What We Do

The Ethics Commission is empowered by statute to accept, review, refer, and track complaints regarding governmental ethics in any of the three branches of State government and of the State’s campaign finance law set forth in 17 V.S.A. Chapter 61; to provide ethics training, and to issue Guidance and Advisory Opinions regarding ethical conduct.

The Ethics Commission does not have enforcement or investigatory powers, nor does its jurisdiction extend to municipal governmental conduct.
