Who needs to file a Financial Disclosure form?
Executive Officers
Executive Officers, members of the State Ethics Commission, and the Executive Director of the Ethics Commission must file a Financial Disclosure Form on or before January 15th of each year, or within 10 days of appointment. 3 V.S.A. § 1211.
Executive officer means a State officer, or under the Office of the Governor, an agency secretary or deputy or a department commissioner or deputy. 3 V.S.A. § 1201.
Candidates for State and Legislative Office: Financial Disclosure Statements
Each candidate for statewide office, state senator, or state representative must file a Financial Disclosure Form along with their Candidate Petition and Consent of Candidate forms. The forms, along with filing instructions, are available on the Secretary of State, Elections Division webpage.
Sheriffs
Each elected sheriff must file a Financial Disclosure Form on or before January 15th of each year, or within 10 days of appointment. 24 V.S.A. § 314.
What information needs to be disclosed in Executive Officer Financial Disclosure form?
Each source, but not the amount, of personal income of the officer, and of his or her spouse or domestic partner, that singly or jointly totals more than $5,000.00 for the previous 12 months.
